Leeds United fell at the first hurdle in the FA Cup this season, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side suffering a 2-1 defeat away from home against fellow Championship outfit QPR.
While some may have seen the cup as an opportunity to continue their fine form domestically and potentially cause an upset against Premier League sides further down the line, the reality is Leeds fans are not too bothered at all.
That is because the Peacocks are flying high in the Championship, leading the way after 26 matches, and will be focusing on earning promotion over the course of the coming months – with the FA Cup merely being a distraction.
However, TalkSport broadcaster Ian Abrahams seemed to overlook this when taking to social media to have another dig at Leeds – having stated earlier in the season it would be bad for English football if the Peacocks were to earn promotion under Bielsa.
Fans on social media were not having any of it though and many rallied to hit back at the radio presenter.
Oh dear, laughing stock of @talkSPORT, now showing your distinct and daily highlighted lack of knowledge about anything other than the premiership, even that’s questionable. The super whites today, see attached chubby, experience for the kids game today pic.twitter.com/ixQMMIIQLJ

Promotion pal. The magic of the FA Cup is all about lower leagues. The Premier League is all we care about. Once again a foreign manager showing the English ones how it’s done, play the academy kids and trust them in big games. Best manager on the world. #inbielsawetrust

Glad to know that Marcelo Bielsa will never be your “friend”

We are gutted to be out of the FA Cup and only top of the championship
