The latest news surrounding Leeds United as winger talks continue and links to 16-year-old striker intensify.

According to TheYorkshireEveningPost, talks with winger Jack Harrison are ‘set to be ongoing’. The Whites are hoping to tie the left-sided winger down to a new contract with Newcastle said to be still interested in the 25-year-old. Harrison was the subject of at least two offers from The Magpies in January which Leeds rejected out of hand. The bids of over £20m were way below Leeds’s valuation and the need to keep hold of Harrison was highlighted when Dan James was allowed to join Fulham on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

The article states ‘Leeds’ contract talks with Jack Harrison are set to be ongoing amid reports talks would be beginning soon. Harrison was the subject of multiple offers from Newcastle United in the summer, and the Magpies are still said to be lurking with intent.’

In other news, Leeds United are said to be interested in Aberdeen star Lewis Pirie. The 16-year-old striker is well regarded in Scotland and England, with Leeds, Brighton and Fulham among the Premier League clubs to show an interest. Championship side Sheffield United are also said to be monitoring the youngster and could offer first-team football sooner.

The article says ‘Pirie has been identified as a rising star, and he has attracted plenty of interest from the Premier League. While Leeds are pushing for a deal, Brighton and Fulham are also said to be attempting to convince the 16-year-old to sign terms.’

Aberdeen would be entitled to compensation should any deal be agreed upon because of the player’s age.

What do fans think, should Leeds offer Harrison a new deal? Would Lewis Pirie be a good signing? Let us know in the comments.
