Leeds United fullback Luke Ayling picked up what looked to be a pretty serious injury in Saturday’s clash at Elland Road against Nottingham Forest.

The 27-year-old former Bristol City player was substituted in the 25th minute of the game and replaced by Tom Pearce, who was himself replaced later on in the match by Samu Saiz just after the hour mark.

Although Leeds battled to a point in the match after again largely dominating the affair, Poppy Weller took to social media following the match in what has been taken by many to be a semi-update on Ayling, although that possibly wasn’t her aim.

Although the brace makes sense from a precautionary standpoint, with the way injuries have already bitten manager Marcelo Bielsa’s side so far in the Championship campaign of 2018/19, it’s understandable as to why many have taken it as a sign that he’s now set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
