Late Own Goal Gives Leeds The Right Result On A Difficult Day – Match Stats

|

Leeds United were back in action earlier today following the end of the November lull in fixtures, and we were treated to a trip to Kenilworth Road to face Luton Town.

The aim for manager Marcelo Bielsa’s side was obvious, pick up another three points and hope we could at least close that small gap that had opened on West Bromwich Albion.

Despite dominating possession in our usual way, and creating far more chances, we made hard work of it in many ways. After a goalless first half, Patrick Bamford did give us the advantage but the hosts levelled three minutes later and that looked like it would be where the scoring ended again.

However, we kept plugging away and Bamford got a scrappy reward in the 90th minute as he played his part in forcing an own goal to take all three points in a 2-1 win.
