It has been announced today that Leeds academy graduate Matthew Kilgallon has been sold to Sheffield United in a £2m deal.
The Blades have signed the 22 year-old for £1.75m rising to the full 2million on appearances, and (for the future) a 20% sell on clause.
Kilgallon played 95 times for Leeds, making his first team debut in the Premiership days of 2003.
A spokesperson for the club said: ‘We can confirm that Matthew Kilgallon has joined Sheffield United in a deal which we believe suits all parties.
‘We wish Matthew all the best for the future.’
Neil ‘I’m a Loudmouth’ Warnock was clearly delighted at signing a player who clearly will have a bright future with the club, and hinted that perhaps they got a better deal now than they did first time they tried!
Warnock told the Sheff Utd official site:
‘We’ll bring the best out of Matthew and he’ll enjoy playing with us – it’s a great opportunity for both parties.’
‘…we offered a lot more money for Matthew in the summer than what we have paid now, so it’s a good bit of business.’
