With Leeds United lifted the Professional Development League National Championship trophy on Monday afternoon in front of 8000 odd fans at Elland Road, plenty of players have obviously come in for a lot of praise following their development at the next age level down, and one of the players to shine was Academy graduate Jamie Shackleton.
With the 19-year-old being included in first team matters on a number of occasions by manager Marcelo Bielsa, there is some disappointment that we haven’t seen more of him in terms of starting appearances but six starts and 16 substitute showings at his age isn’t bad at all and it gives a decent indication of the future he could have in the game if he keeps his head down and keeps working hard.
He’s definitely continued to impress at Under 23 level in his breakthrough season at the club and taking to social media to react to his efforts on Monday evening, fans were again full of praise.
