The Express and Star has reported recently that we are keen on Jonathan Kodjia at Aston Villa.

It’s evident that the club wants to sign new forwards this summer and a whole host of players have been linked with the likes of Matej Vydra and Abel Hernandez doing the rounds.

None have come to pass yet, though, and so Kodjia’s name is now the latest to be thrown into the ring.

Scoring just once last season, it might be a move that worries a few but, actually, he’d be a very good signing for us.

An athletic, powerful presence up front, on his day he can lead the line alone with aplomb with the way he works through the middle and down the channels.

Many are expecting Bielsa to use one up top and apply a hard-working style to our team and Kodjia seems to fit that perfectly.

Yes, he’s had fitness issues and only scored once last season in a depleted campaign but this guy on his day is a real force and in my opinion would be a more than welcome addition.
