With the growth of key defensive midfielder Kalvin Phillips following the arrival of Argentine genius Marcelo Bielsa, it doesn’t take much to get Leeds United fans going when it comes to giving the 23-year-old praise and given his showing against Barnsley last weekend as we returned to winning ways and the top of the Championship table, it was never going to be any different this time around.
Having recently penned a new long term contract at Elland Road following all the departure speculation we saw over the summer, the player put in a fantastic challenge on Mamadou Thiam on Sunday, and when the club took to social media to highlight that moment, it certainly sparked a positive reaction.

Says everything when a player goes in like that when it comes to their spirit and commitment and these Leeds fans weren’t going to let it go without comment, and fair play for the Barnsley player acknowledgement for not acting like he’d been shot as so many do these days.
