Juan Mata could join Leeds

Per GiveMeSport, there is a “willingness from both sides” to complete Juan Mata’s potential move to Leeds United.

The seasoned Spanish playmaker struggled for minutes last year, playing just 409 minutes, less than 5 90s, in all competitions, and his contract across the Pennines was allowed to expire this summer.

Dean Jones told GiveMeSport:

“Leeds are aware of his situation and now know what would be needed to sign him – and Mata’s agents are happy for the story to be out there. We’ll have to see if it progresses, but at the moment, they have been trying to raise as much interest in him as possible.”

Mata has won just about everything there is to win, including the Champions League and the World Cup, and has almost 300 direct goal contributions in his club career.

Some may argue that he would be unsuited to Marsch’s intense style of play, but if used correctly, perhaps as Pablo Hernándex was by Bielsa, this could be an important signing on a free for next season.
