Phil Hay has sought to play down suggestions that David Stockdale will be a summer arrival for us in the window.

The next couple of months are certainly going to be interesting as we see how the club looks to improve on last season.

Indeed, there are a few places where we need to strengthen and in goal is one area where we need more options.

After a fan asked Hay about Stockdale, though, he suggested that, though the club is aware he is available, we are not in negotiations to get after him:

The Verdict

I like Stockdale and think he is a decent goalkeeper at this level but it might seem that the club is looking elsewhere for a new face between the sticks.

BPF is an option we want to keep but both Andy Lonergan and Felix Wiedwald have question marks over them so a new arrival might not be the worst thing in the world.
