Lee Sharpe has suggested that we need to spend big this summer to get us back into the Premier League.

Things seem to be focused heavily on finances this window – more than usual.

Andrea Radrizzani has been making business deals that have been looking good whilst away from us the likes of Aston Villa and Derby look set to suffer financially.

Parachute payments are on the way for West Brom and those that came down from the Premier League but, at the same time, the likes of Norwich will no longer have theirs.

Perhaps, then, now is a good time to try and push the boat out somewhat and that’s what Sharpe is asking us to do – via Lee Sobot on Twitter:

The Verdict

Sharpe is obviously right but I can’t help thinking we’d have done that by now if we could.

Perhaps he thinks that we can this summer, then, and Andrea has been targeting plenty of fresh investment of late which is good to see.

Time will only tell with our signings, though.
