Vital Leeds United extends a warm welcome to the Oakwood Owls youth football education group.

I would like to formally welcome the Oakwood Owls, and Rod Christopher to the Vital Leeds United family in becoming the first group to be associated with the website.

Rod’s Oakwood Owls are a Leeds City council youth service based in North Gipton.

Formed in 2004, it is run by lifelong Leeds United fan and former Grimsby & Halifax trialist Rod Christopher, who has a long history of coaching young people, including work for the Manchester United/Bobby Charlton soccer schools has worked with Manchester City and England defender Michah Richards!

The Owls is run as a Football Education group, where youngsters of all ages can become involved in football, fitness and issue based educational subjects. The most recent development is the acceptance of an invitation into the Under 15’s Premiership League held at Soccer City, a first for the Owls as they start to play regular football

As part of the agreement Vital Leeds United will be publishing regular updates of the Owls achievements so expect to see more from the group on the main page of Vital Leeds. A new forum has been created for Vital Leeds United members to interact with both Rod Christopher, and indeed members of the Oakwood Owls!

I am sure that everyone at Vital Leeds United message board will be extending the warm welcome to them!
