Leeds United youngster Tyler Roberts caught the eye of a few over pre-season and although the 2018/19 campaign so far hasn’t gone how he would’ve hoped, his senior debut for Wales earlier this week should provide him with a timely boost.
Having come in from West Bromwich Albion for a £2.5million fee and quickly seeing his season written off with injury, manager Marcelo Bielsa has given him a run out in our two EFL Cup games against Bolton Wanderers and Preston North End but he’s yet to feature for us in Championship action this year.
Despite that, Ryan Giggs did call him into the Welsh setup for the September international break and he came on with 15 minutes remaining in the game against the Republic of Ireland and he certainly did himself no harm with the cameo performance he put in.
On the bench and when he played in the cup was nowt special. Young lad definitely got potential but needs to show it in competitive matches before we think about giving him regular game time

A lot of psychology involved in coming from his injury

Really enjoyable game between Wales and Republic of Ireland. Giggs given himself impossibly high standards to maintain. Decent cameo from #lufc forgotten man, Tyler Roberts too #WALIRL

Let’s be realistic, he’d been injured for months and he’s only 19, he’s going to be a top player and will only get better and better under Bielsa and Giggsfor his country

Now he’s fit, it might take the 19-year-old a bit longer to find his true form and confidence, but that showing is going to have done him the world of good and no doubt Bielsa was watching on, so he shouldn’t have to wait too much longer for a chance to really get his career up and running at Elland Road.
