FooAccording to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan’s Joaquín Correa is ‘high on the list’ of potential replacements for the departed Raphinha for Leeds United.

The Argentine international’s vast experience, including 149 appearances in Italy’s Serie A, scoring 31 goals and providing 16 assists in that time, had got Leeds fans excited about this potential deal.

However, Inter Milan fans have taken to Twitter since the links were revealed, and their suggestions paint a different picture.

Football fans can be cruel, especially on Twitter, and often have short memories, but it seems like Correa’s current club’s supporters have been far from impressed having watched the Argentine play for them.

The forward has scored just twice in the league this calendar year, both coming on the final day in a 3-0 win against Sampdoria. He also failed to complete a full 90 minutes at all in 2021/22, missing 14 games across all competitions through different injuries, meaning a key role in Jesse Marsch’s high intensity system seems far-fetched.

With his lack of consistent performances, and indeed fitness, I find it very unlikely that Joaquín Correa will be a Leeds United player any time soon.
