Marcelo Bielsa has been given a major injury boost ahead of Leeds United’s meeting with Queens Park Rangers – Pablo Hernandez ‘will be available’ to face the Hoops on Saturday. He told Leeds Live in Thursday’s press conference: “Pablo Hernandez is good. He’s a player we miss when he’s not here.”

The 34-year-old has been out of action since mid-September with muscle and hamstring problems. He’s made eight Championship appearances this season, scoring and creating four goals, but hasn’t featured since Leeds’ 1-1 draw with Derby County (September 21).

Hernandez was absent as United suffered a 1-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic (September 28), enjoyed a 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion (October 1), lost 2-1 to Millwall (October 5), won 1-0 against Birmingham City (October 19), drew 1-1 with Preston North End (October 22) and drew 0-0 with Sheffield Wednesday (October 26).

Leeds have scored just four goals in the six games Hernandez has missed, so Bielsa will be hoping the Spaniard’s return will see the goals flow. Ahead of Saturday’s meeting with QPR, the Whites are third in the table with only one win in four. No side in the top-10 have scored fewer goals either, so Hernandez needs to hit the ground running if he features over the weekend.
