Leeds United got back to winning ways in Saturday’s clash with Birmingham City at Elland Road and having picked up all three points after Kalvin Phillips’ second half goal, we also returned to the automatic promotion spots in the Championship table.
20-year-old Welsh international Tyler Roberts continues to search for full fitness and form following his lengthy spell on the sidelines, and he was again involved in the matchday squad under manager Marcelo Bielsa for the game, as he made his fifth appearance of the season, playing his part in us taking the win.
Speaking to the Official Site following the game, he picked out the fans as being key to our win.
“The atmosphere was ridiculous, the fans did an excellent job and everyone behind the scenes did a good job, it was amazing. Coming on in the second half and getting some minutes it was great, it’s been a long summer, so I’m glad to be back and helping the team get up the table.”
With Roberts showing his importance for us last season as he plugged gaps when injuries hit, although he has plenty to improve on when it comes to his game, we’ve already seen what he’s capable of and getting him properly back into form is only going to be another asset as we look to improve and go one better this year.
Really do think he will be an important player for us this season

Playing a natural striker in the no10 roll rather than a midfielder may be a good move. PH is more a striker than midfield player which is why he is effective there. Also gets his share of goals playing there. TR could be same eventually. Still learning but needs chances. #lufc
