Leeds head into a game with Ipswich this weekend but we’re already thinking about the play-off battle that awaits in truth.
The Whites have been good this season but have fallen short of the top two and now it’s all about sealing third on the final day and then taking on one of Derby, Middlesbrough or Bristol City.
West Brom or Aston Villa will then await in the final and, according to David Prutton, Leeds have the ability to get promoted this season in what could be a great few weeks for the club.
Writing in his column for the Yorkshire Evening Post, he said:
“A couple of weeks ago we presumed that we were looking at a Leeds team that had automatic promotion or were very much in the box seat for it.
“Now they are going to have to go the scenic route and work out the hard way to get in the Premier League.
“But I have got no doubt that Leeds have got the personality and the bottle to do it.”
There has often been question marks about our bottle and mentality in recent seasons but this year we have shown we are tougher than we have been for a long time.
Positive signs, then, and I’d like to think that Prutton is going to be proven right come the end of the month.
