Leeds Word On The Tweet

‘I’d love it’, ‘worth a punt’: Some Leeds fans urge board to go after departing ‘next Messi’

We’ve got Bojo at Number 10, but could we soon be seeing Bojan at Elland Road?

John Percy of The Telegraph is reporting that Stoke City are set to release the 28-year-old Spaniard.

With Leeds United fans making it clear that they want the club to sign a forward in the last two weeks of the window, and now a player with Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A & La Liga experience possibly coming on the market, they’ve put two and two together to, unfortunately make five.

There’s one thing that would put me off making this kind of move, and that’s his goal record. In his time in England, he hasn’t exactly set the world alight when you consider he was once hailed as the next Lionel Messi. His best return in a season was seven goals and one assist back in 2015/16. So I don’t know if this is exactly the kind of move you need to make if you’re desperate for goals, because the evidence is there that he just won’t get them.

However, that hasn’t stopped these Leeds fans from demanding that he be given the chance under the wing of Marcelo Bielsa.

They even went to the extreme length of tagging the club’s executive chairman, Andrea Radrizzani in order to try and get his attention to the news.
