On-loan striker Geoff Horsfield has stated his desire to remain at Elland Road past his current 6-month loan contract.

The Sheffield United man told the YEP: ‘It’s nice to be involved again, and to be at a football club where you’re wanted.

‘I’ve been in a position where I’ve wanted to say things and I’ve wanted to do things, but I’ve just kept my head down. The last six months have been the worst time I’ve ever had in my career.

‘I’ve come here on loan with a view to a permanent move, and I’ve already said to the gaffer ‘you’re having me for more than six months’. I want to be here for longer than that.’

Horsfield enjoyed a good debut against Norwich and was unlucky to see Norwich ‘keeper Paul Gallacher tip an 8-yard shot over the post.
