Leeds United are flying high at the top of the Championship but a sequence of three consecutive defeats across all competitions has raised concerns heading into the second half of the season.
The Peacocks suffered losses against Hull City and Nottingham Forest in the league prior to defeat against QPR in the FA Cup third round on Saturday, while another tough test awaits on Friday evening against fellow promotion-chasers Derby County.
One major cause of concern for supporters at Elland Road is the lack of depth in key areas and many fans were left scratching their heads this week after it was confirmed that 22-year-old defender Conor Shaughnessy had moved to Hearts on loan until the end of the season.
While he had featured just once this season, the departure leaves Leeds’ defence looking rather slim and injury problems or suspensions could cause havoc in the months ahead – something which fans on social media were quick to point out.
We have gathered some of their comments below.
Small squad getting smaller, any news of any incomings or players back from injuries?

I really can’t understand why we are reducing our numbers at the back

Why would you let Conor go to hearts given our defensive problems- at least hold back till end of window so we can get people back to fitness

Seems daft when we are so short of defenders.

It’s a good job we’re swimming in a sea of centre backs…
