Leeds Word On The Tweet

‘I hope we get rid’ – Some Leeds fans react to £2.7m-rated ace’s recent post

A handful of Leeds supporters have been reacting online after Kiko Casilla shared an Instagram story post, where the Spaniard was clearly unhappy at having to return for pre-season training.

The United first-team returned to Thorp Arch today for their first pre-season sessions of the 2019/20 season, as Marcelo Bielsa gets to work with the squad in a bid to tighten the gaps which scuppered our promotion efforts last term.

Casilla, despite only arriving at Elland Road in the winter, turned out to be one of the players who held us back at points, with his frantic decisions to rush off his line regularly causing problems at the back.

The former Real Madrid man’s efforts for the Whites, in fact, only returned six clean sheets in 19 games across the Championship and Play-Offs, with the 32-year-old conceding 22 goals in the 13 fixtures where the ball flew past him into the net at least once.

In fact, Casilla had the worst goals conceded record of any United player in the recent season, as the opposition were able to strike an average of 1.16 goals per game against him, compared to Bailey Peacock-Farrell’s 1.07.

Casilla’s failure to deliver the sort of impact we were all longing for has even led to the one-time Spain international’s future in West Yorkshire being cast into doubt, with the club allegedly open to parting ways in the summer.

Now that he has shared a post to his Instagram where he included crying emojis ahead of his return to West Yorkshire, some fans would be happier than ever to see the £2.7million-rated ‘keeper sold, while others took a more reasoned approach to their reply…
