‘I have panic attacks seeing him play’ – Loads of Leeds fans react to key Bielsa man’s performance

|

There have been several heroes in the first-team this season, but we have also endured our fair share of injuries, making the international break a tetchy occasion for everyone in West Yorkshire.

One of Marcelo Bielsa’s key players, though, has already been in action for his country and thankfully got through the Euro 2020 qualifying clash unscathed, even adding a goal to his name.

That man is superstar left-back Ezgjan Alioski, who fired an eleventh-minute strike into the bottom left corner of Andris Vanins’ net to put Macedonia a goal to the good against Latvia.

It was his eleventh goal of the season for club and country, and the 27-year-old even added his seventh assist of the campaign later on when he teed Eljif Elmas up deep into stoppage time to lash the ball into the top left corner.

Alioski’s goal was typical of his energetic character, that we have seen throughout the season, as he burst down the flank to get on the end of Gordan Pandev’s cross.

Had it not been for Kire Markoski firing his effort from outside the box just wide of the post, our 21-cap international would have also recorded his eighth assist of the year.

The game was not entirely full of glory for Alioski, it must be said, as he regularly caught the attention of the referee for his tackling and the linesman’s flag.

His overall performance, though, was impressive and that is what you let him know after the game…
