Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay took an in-depth look at surprise summer capture from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Barry Douglas, this week following his performance for Leeds United in the game against Wigan Athletic last weekend.

The 29-year-old was signed for an absolute snip at £3million as reported and he’s more than proven his worth with his work on the left-hand side of the pitch and he’s quickly been taken into the hearts of the Elland Road faithful – as Wolves fans predicted.

Having been out injured, his performance last Sunday was top drawer indeed and Hay’s piece is well worth a read if you haven’t already done so and I’m sure fans will agree with the salient points made about his importance to us now.

It certainly looked that way as many took to social media to comment on the article, and if nothing else, it gave them the perfect chance to once again lavish praise on the Scot.

  • Dirty Leeds fans are deluded if they think we made a mistake selling Douglas, you can’t have a keep a player who argues with his boss in front of the whole squad, yes he’s good at set pieces but his defending is crap, we got £3 million for a player whose level is playing for a team dirty bribing Leeds in the championship, in return we have a player who Douglas couldn’t even tie his boot laces.
We move on, Douglas has moved on all beit a step backwards!
