It may have passed you by as we enjoyed the bank holiday weekend but the 27th of May actually marked a significant milestone.
Indeed, it was the date when the Premier League was officially formed and, as Sky Sports said at the time, football would never be the same.
Eventually, the riches and what came with that would come in and, of course, we’d eventually end up losing our top-flight status.
A date significant, too, as it underlined us as the last league champions of the old first division – something the National Football Museum posted on Twitter back on Sunday:
#OnThisDay in 1992, the @premierleague was officially formed as a limited company; this motley crew of characters at @LUFC were the last to lift the Lady. #TheGameNFM © Stuart Roy Clarke pic.twitter.com/fqj3yu3CBv

The Verdict
It’s certainly a milestone, though perhaps one we’re perhaps not overly keen on celebrating given what’s happened since.
The Premier League as an entity has become a massive success, make no mistake, it would just be nice to be also enjoying the fruits of it given the size of our club.
Let’s get back there next year.
