Leeds United have work to do when domestic football returns this weekend as the Peacocks suffered a hefty defeat at the hands of West Brom last time out.
A 4-1 defeat to their promotion rivals saw Marcelo Bielsa’s side slip to third in the standings, now sitting just four points ahead of tenth-placed QPR in what is developing into a fierce fight for a return to the Premier League.
With a loss of form and injury issues mounting up, Leeds may feel they need all the help they can get to spark a revival but it does not seem like they will get a helping hand – as a shocking statistic has shown it has now been over 400 days since the Peacocks were last awarded a penalty.
For those struggling to do the math, that is 55 games since Leeds last had a spot kick – and they didn’t even manage to score it.
After fans on social media became aware of the stat, many shared their reactions and we have gathered some of them below.
And it was saved 😏

Should tag @EFL 400 days since Leeds United were awarded a penalty! How can this be?

Imagine the size of a #lufc countdown to a penalty type advent calendar (Christmas round the corner) chocolates, novelty gifts and all that.
