Derby County owner Mel Morris has revealed that he wants the season to end now, although he would have no problem with the top two winning promotion anyway.
Whilst there is a desire to finish the season, there has still not been a concrete return date for the Championship. That is obviously worrying Leeds United and West Brom, as they lead the way and are desperate to be playing in the top-flight next season.
So, they will want the campaign finished but Hull City were the first club to say they feel the season should end now. And, the Rams have followed suit, with Morris believing the game should not return until fans are allowed back in the stadiums.
Will Leeds United be playing in the Premier League next season?
Yes
No
That view annoyed Leeds fans, who accused the Derby owner of acting with self-interest. That’s because even though the side are five points away from the play-off places, there has been talk that they could be hit with a significant points deduction that could potentially leave them in a relegation scrap.
Here we look at some of the reaction from the Whites support to Morris’ comments…
Eh? More likely to get a points deduction and end up fighting relegation. Nonsense headline.
