Speculation is rife on the summer’s rumour mill that Tottenham Hotspur could be willing to pay Bournemouth £30million for former Leeds United midfielder Lewis Cook.
Bournemouth came in for our Academy graduate back in the summer of 2016 and with over a 100 appearances for us, he’s gone on to add 41 appearances for them to his career tally since making the reported £7million move and some in the Elland Road faithful are hoping that former owner Massimo Cellino had the forethought to put a future transfer fee clause into his sale deal.
Sell on clauses and selling on youth possibly before we should is a hot topic at the moment given Ronaldo Vieira’s switch to Italian Serie A side Sampdoria and with some expectation that we’d have included a clause like this for him, fans will be gutted if we didn’t show the same sense back then.
Reacting to the reports of the possible transfer for Cook on social media, here’s what some fans had to say.
If #lufc didn’t include a sell on clause with Lewis Cook then…. I will, well not be at all surprised! ???????? https://t.co/sWfSRfkbx9

Mm was a Cellino deal so am not holding my breath as he will of just tried to get the highest cost I bet without clauses as he knew he wasn’t going to be here long term

No chance, he would of taken an extra £10 in his pocket at the time, never in it for the long haul.

The sell on clause was that any future profits go directly to him!! ????????

Can’t believe we wouldn’t have a sell on clause for Lewis Cook. I know the sale was done by a raging Italian lunatic but jeez that would be a bad bit of business #lufc
