“High Value” – Bielsa Impressed With New Leeds Addition

|

Few Leeds United fans knew what to expect from Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah, but from what we could tell and the words coming out of their fans, there was certainly reason for optimism.

Having largely only gained cameo showings in the Premier League and other competitions, the 20-year-old has certainly had a bright start to life at Elland Road.

Having scored on his debut against Salford in the EFL Cup, he followed that with his maiden Championship goal in the victory over Brentford, and having not netted against Stoke in our second tier clash, he continued his run in the Cup to give himself a three in four record.

Given how much he can still develop, he’s quickly becoming a lad we wish was our own.

Although we crashed out of the Cup on penalties, our true focus this year is the league and promotion, so most I suspect won’t actually be that bothered, albeit it was disappointing. With our focus though, there’s every reason for renewed confidence that between Nketiah and Patrick Bamford, we will achieve our aim with goals also elsewhere in the team.

Following his latest performance, manager Marcelo Bielsa was certainly pleased with the youngsters’ introduction at the club and how he’s already started contributing.

Speaking to Leeds Live following the game, I’m pretty sure most fans will agree with the gaffers’ words.

“Nketiah makes positive contributions to the team. A striker who has goals. Something with high value for a team.”
