With the press making the most of the confusion surrounding Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa’s contract, the man himself has now spoken.
With plenty implying that he was only obligated to remain for a second season if we attained promotion into the Premier League this year, Bielsa himself remained coy on the subject, always saying it was simply not the ‘right time’ to discuss such things as the season remained the priority, and a few weeks back we even had his brother provide a clarification.
Promotion obligated the second year, but failure to gain Premier League football simply put the choice to Leeds.
Speaking to the media on Friday afternoon as he previewed Sunday’s final regular game of the season against Ipswich Town at Portman Road before our attentions can fully turn to the Play-Off semi-final games, Bielsa made his own clarification to his future.
💬 | Marcelo on his #LUFC future: "I would never say that if we stay in the Championship, I won't stay here. I just said it was not the moment to talk about it. This club is more important than whether it plays in the Premier League, Championship or League One"

Leeds fans on social media were rightly delighted with his words as the clear implication is, he’s staying regardless.
How lucky are we ..ALAW
