“He’s Miles Away” – Pundit Believes Leeds Youngster Might Need Another Move To Get Himself Up & Running

Former England striker Darren Bent has commented on Jack Clarke’s potential chances of making it at Spurs.

The Premier League club have sacked Mauricio Pochettino after 5 years at the helm, being replaced by world-renowned Jose Mourinho, and, as we know, the winger re-joined his boyhood club on-loan until the end of the season, making just two appearances for Leeds this campaign – both in the EFL Cup.

Bent, a former Spurs striker and England international, believes he will find it extremely difficult to find a way into the first team:

“He needs to worry about getting in that Leeds team because he can’t get nowhere near it at the minute. Before he worries about Mourinho, listen, he might have signed at Spurs but he’s miles away, absolutely miles away because he’s done himself no justice at Leeds. How can he expect, if he can’t get in Leeds’ team, how can he expect to go and get in Spurs’ team? It’s not going to happen so he needs to somehow get minutes at Leeds, start playing week in, week out or if January comes and goes: ‘It’s not working for me,’ go somewhere else and play games.”

Clarke signed for Tottenham in the summer for £10million after a string of impressive displays at Elland Road in 2018/19 which saw him individually pick up the Young Player of the Year Award at the Whites and collectively help his side steer a promotion push.

He will be hoping to more cement his place in the starting line-up when Leeds play Middlesbrough at home on Saturday, following on from his first minutes in the Championship campaign at the weekend.
