Daniel James and the Leeds United fanbase is becoming a love story that refuses to go away, as the Elland Road faithful were once again balled over by the winger in the FA Cup.
It was the 21-year-old’s first start in the cup when he laced up his boots against Brentford on Sunday, but returned Graham Potter’s trust with his third goal of the season in all competitions.
The cup goal, in particular, earned a lot of attention from the Whites fanbase for James once again displayed his blistering pace, which just went to show why Marcelo Bielsa wanted to sign him in January, as one fan noted.
Had the Argentine been using a rare weekend off to watch James in action, the boss would have witnessed the winger take less than ten seconds to complete a stunning solo counter-attack, where he sprinted from the edge of his box, past an on-rushing defender, and found the back of the net with a powerful strike to the left of a hapless Luke Daniels.
Judging by these tweets from members of the Elland Road faithful, they are hopeful we return to our interest in James come the summer…
Let’s hope we do Swansea over for not picking up that phone and bring him in on the cheap ????????
