Tonight is the time Paul Heckingbottom must unleash the players and let them go and impress.
I hate to say it, but I’m sure many of you feel the same, the top six is now looking out of reach this year yet again.
Of course, mathematically it is still possible, and, in this league, you can never rule things out but there’s a lot of teams ahead of us that are in better form without doubt.
For sure, we’d have to be pretty much perfect from here on in and I simply don’t think that we have that kind of consistency and confidence in us right now.
So, back to tonight, we’ve got little to lose and might as well cut loose and express ourselves – easier said than done of course.
With that in mind, then, and with Hecky still surely trying to work out who he wants to keep for next season, why not play Hadi Sacko from the start against Wolves?
Sacko is mercurial, yes, he’s also inconsistent but, and it’s a big but, he can be brilliant and he is still a relatively young player.
For sure, we’ve not seen the best of him for more than brief spells on a football pitch but with the pressure largely off us this season now, we might as well see what he – and players of similar status in the squad – can do.
The boss has said he wants to give everyone a chance to impress and it appears to me now that we’re at the best point in the campaign to be able to do just that.
I really want Sacko to prove his worth for us and so I think it’s time we give him a good shot at doing so.
Agree with me? Let me know in the poll!
