Leeds United striker David Healy is expected by just about everyone to be departing Elland Road this summer.

Ken Bates, now back in control of Leeds United expects that Healy’s international success for Northern Ireland will see clubs interested in him this Summer despite a poor season for Leeds. The Ulsterman has scored 29 goals in 56 games in international football, making him the countries top goalscorer.

‘David Healy has scored goals consistently for Northern Ireland and you would think a player doing so well in international football will want to play at a higher level than League One,’ said Bates.

Meanwhile Leeds assistant boss Gus Poyet shares Bates’ view, and belives that it is ‘practically impossible’ to keep hold of the striker. ‘It’s practically impossible to keep him,’ admitted Poyet to the official website. ‘Of course, we would love to have him, but he’s the top scorer in the Euro qualifying matches. We’ll look and we’ll wait.’

We want Leeds United fans opinions of this so it’s time to have your say!
