Leeds Word On The Tweet

‘He sucks’, ‘Winds me up’ – These Leeds fans really want Bielsa to see his Plan B failings

|

All Leeds needed was a point to stay in the automatic promotion places, but losing to Sheffield United has put a major dent in our ambitions.

We now have to rely on results elsewhere falling in our favour if we are to overturn the slight deficit we face to the Blades, or stand any chance of catching Norwich for the title.

Focusing on Saturday’s result, though, and fans on the R/LeedsUnited Reddit page think the game proved one point more than any other, and that was why Wolverhampton Wanderers were happy to sell Barry Douglas to us in the summer.

The left-back was not only the Molineux outfit’s top assist provider in their promotion clinching campaign, but his 14 was also the joint most for anyone in the division.

Of course, Douglas has suffered a lot of injuries since moving to West Yorkshire, but his performances at Elland Road when he has been fit have not been to the same level as those he reached with Wolves.

No wonder, then, that Marcelo Bielsa has turned the 29-year-old into part of his Plan B, but fans on Reddit are hopeful that his most recent substitute outing proves to the boss that his back-up plan has to change…
