With news this week of possible interest in Leeds United’s top scorer last season, Kemar Roofe, fans have been quick to give their response to the speculation.
Football Insider had reported that Sheffield United and West Bromwich Albion were supposedly chasing our versatile 25-year-old attacker and the presumption was bids were being readied for our 14 goalman.
An integral part of the side at Elland Road, whilst we might be loaning a few players out to further their first team experience and aid their development like the recent departure of Mallik Wilks to Doncaster Rovers, surely we wouldn’t genuinely be looking to sell off any of our quality – especially in light of the issues we seem to be having getting new players through the door for the gaffer Marcelo Bielsa.
It’s certainly being suggested that the Argentinian wouldn’t sanction such a move anyway as you’d think Roofe remained in his plans for the Championship campaign of 2018/19 and it seems most fans agree that it would be madness to move him on at this stage even if he does divide opinion as various manager’s try and work out where he can be most potent on the pitch.
I know Roofe divides opinion but I think it would be silly to sell him. Talented player who knows how to find the back of the net and versatile in a few positions. Keep. #LUFC

We haven't got many decent players it would be madness to sell one

I think he will only get better under Bielsa, hus versatility, movement and creativity to get in behind will be key. Another season, another Roofe ????

He's a better player than most realise, especially if played in his favoured role.
