Leeds United secured an impressive victory against Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United on Saturday, extending their winning run to three Championship matches.
The 1-0 victory, secured by Pablo Hernandez’s goal in the final 10 minutes, has seen the Peacocks open up a four-point cushion over promotion rivals West Brom, who defeated Marcelo Bielsa’s side last month, with Leeds sitting in an automatic promotion spot.
However, the trip to Bramall Lane was not without losses though as Leeds were forced into a first-half change when Liam Cooper was forced off and replaced by Aapo Halme, who impressed, and it seems the Leeds skipper could be sidelined for a while.
There is still no official confirmation on the extent of Cooper’s injury at the time of writing but this has not stopped fans from discussing the situation on social media, where the general consensus is that the skipper has improved significantly this season under Bielsa and will be a huge miss.
We have gathered some of the comments made by fans below.
Absolute credit to the improvements he has made and his, already known qualities as a leader, that we will really miss Liam Cooper. Hope we get him back at some point this season. He has been a credit to the shirt #lufc #MOT

Cooper has been excellent so far this season, who’d have thought this time last year we would miss his presence on the pitch

A good all round bloke. Works very hard and hasn’t gone into his shell when needed. He gets us as well. It’s great seeing family men at the club. Future is bright.

If it wasn’t for Phillips massive improvement cooper would have a case for our most important player thus far into the season phil.

Whilst he can sometimes split opinion his attitude on and off the pitch is outstanding. He seems a thoroughly decent bloke and a true professional. Would love to see him get us promoted. ALAW MOT
