“Have To Accept This Deal” “Finally Learning” – These Leeds Fans Applaud The Club For Sensible Transfer Decision

|

With the speculation this week skyrocketing when it came to the future of Leeds United talent Jack Clarke and a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur, I think most fans accept that it’s now a done deal and we’re simply waiting for the official announcement.

Former player and BBC pundit Noel Whelan pulled no punches when claiming that owner Andrea Radrizzani had let the fans down in agreeing to the deal and he added that the club had again been weak in their negotiating position.

I disagreed at the time with his words as despite Clarke’s potential, it’s only potential and if the deal does go through at around the £10million upfront mark and then £5 odd million in extras, the reality is that’s a great deal for a lad with four Championship starts to his name and given the speculation we’ve seen so far, if we had to lose one player and it came down to Clarke or Kalvin Phillips, Phillips is of more importance in Marcelo Bielsa’s setup.

It seems I’m not alone in realising that point even if it doesn’t make for quite such a sensationalist headline.
