Fresh from victory over Preston North End on Tuesday evening, manager Marcelo Bielsa is now preparing for the Championship clash with Birmingham City this weekend.

The game obviously takes on extra significance owing to a certain Garry Monk.

Leeds are flying high at the top of the second tier with a one-point lead over Middlesbrough as I type, and Birmingham are down in 20th place in the table, so whilst all indications are that based on form this should be a walk in the park for Leeds and that our unbeaten run is set to continue – football can often not work out like that – especially when there’s added spice to a match.

Although the above fans are incredibly optimistic ahead of the game on Saturday, Sod’s Law would say that given the background here Monk would be the one to bring an end to our current run of form and although I don’t believe anyone would be surprised to see it end – we aren’t going to go the season unbeaten – this would make the defeat more bitter for many in the fanbase.
