Harry States the Obvious

Two poorly defended corners after Leeds played well to get the lead was the explanation from assistant boss Dave Basset for Leeds going one goal up, only to lose 2-0!

It’s the kind of logic that makes me wonder, should I be applying for the vacant managers post at Wigan Athletic, using my experience of Football Manager 2007 as justification for my application.

Speaking to Leedsunited.com, Harry said: ‘We started well and, got the goal but unfortunately we defended two corners poorly and they managed to score,’

He went on to add: ‘When Filipe got sent off and we went down to 10 men it gave us more of a mountain, but in the second half we did everything possible. We had 19 efforts – they had five.

‘Their keeper made some good saves we had a few off-target. If we’d have been more clinical it would have helped. It just wasn’t to be.

‘There were a lot of of plusses. We played well in second half, and we just needed a goal. Even in defeat you can’t ask for any more. The attitude of the players was top notch.’

Lets hope he won’t be given much more cause to discuss the finer points of defeat in the future!
