‘School’s out forever’, as Alice Cooper once famously sang.

If, you’re too young to know who Alice Cooper is, ask your parents.

Ever since it was demolished there have been rumours about what is going to happen to the site, now it seems we have an answer. The old Matthew Murray High school site has been sold to Leeds United with plans afoot for the club to turn it into a new training centre.

In an announcement after the deal was made, United CEO Angus Kinnear said:

“Today’s announcement is an exciting one for Leeds United which will hopefully enable us to build a world-class facility, aimed at creating a talent development pathway for young people who live in the inner city. We believe we can create something that will benefit the entire local community and I look forward to sharing those details with everyone in the coming weeks”

Leeds United fans were delighted at the news and they took to Twitter when it came through.

You even had some fans trying to give it a name, with some rather persuasive arguments.

And one guy who was certainly trying to be creative with how to use it.
