‘Great job’, ‘he gets it’: Marcelo Bielsa has spotlight stolen from him during press conference

|

I think this is possibly a first.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a time where a player dominates the headlines during a manager’s press conference, however that was certainly the case yesterday.

Coming off the back of the almost-comeback against Stoke City on Wednesday, and looking ahead to this weekend’s game with Swansea City, Marcelo Bielsa gave an update on the general health of the team. He said that barring Luke Ayling and Tyler Roberts, every member of the squad was available for selection.

However, fans were more interested in who Bielsa was going to be holding his press conference with, although they might have been reading a little bit too much into the team for Saturday when they saw who was going to be joining him for media duties.

After Bielsa had said his bit, it was time for the man of the moment to take to the microphone. Nketiah shared his thoughts on how much he appreciates the support of the Elland Road faithful and how former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has helped him develop his game.
