Leeds united boss Simon Grayson is looking forward to seeing ‘the rebuilt` Ben Parker during pre season after two injury ravaged years.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Grayson said, “It`s been difficult for Ben over the past few years because of all his injuries. Now the physio`s have rebuilt his body, we have got a player ready to challenge in the first team.”

Parker was a key player in Grayson`s first season at the club, after taking over in December 2008.

The left back quickly established himself as a regular in the side that were eventually beaten in the play off semi finals after a great run in the second half of the season.

The 23 year olds nightmare run of injuries started on the opening day of the following season when he was forced off inside thirty minutes with a hamstring injury.

Scans later revealed that he required a hip operation that ruled him out until the New Year.

Unfortunately, a reoccurrence of his original injury ruled him out until April when he made his first start in the penultimate home game of the season against MK Dons.

In the MK Dons game, he suffered a calf injury that forced the substitution of a clearly frustrated and emotional Parker.

The calf injury ruled him out of the following pre season and he finally returned in the away game at Cardiff City in early January.

Parker made four appearances before his injury jinx struck again at the end of February to rule him out for the remainder of the season.
