Following quickly in the footsteps of Oliver Casey’s debut for Leeds United, manager Marcelo Bielsa used Tuesday night’s Championship clash with Hull City as a chance to blood another talented youngster, and reliable Under 23 graduate, Pascal Struijk, received his first senior minutes.

The 20-year-old Dutchman came on for Helder Costa in the 91st minute as we looked to slow the game to a very comfortable end after an own goal and an Ezgjan Alioski effort.

The youngster understandably took to social media following the game to talk about his pride at making his senior bow and having posted on Instagram, the clubs’ official feed picked it up to offer their own congratulations.

Naturally, fans were delighted for him and were quick to comment about his cameo appearance and some even spotted the timing of the screenprint which showed 1919 likes to his message.

Bielsa again proves if you’re good enough, age doesn’t matter, but fans will be hoping to see a few others before the end of the season as well. Key thing is, we have a little more depth in defence now.
