New Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa wasn’t that impressed with striker Caleb Ekuban when he arrived at Elland Road over the summer and the 24-year-old was offloaded in the summer’s transfer window to Turkish outfit Trabzonspor.
The season long loan deal is set to have a buy clause built in and the speculation is it would make the whole deal worth around the £1million mark, and Trabzonspor have been impressed with the lad, but are said to want to negotiate the permanent fee down a touch so it’s more feasible for them.
With him seemingly having no future at Leeds (arguably injuries haven’t helped him), the expectation is some kind of deal will be done over the summer, especially in light of his current form for the side.
In their midweek Cup clash against Sivas Belediye, he helped himself to a brace as they progressed in the competition and it took his tally to four goals in the last five games.
Plenty of fans on social media were happy for him, and some even felt he was now showing the required signs for him to return and have a second crack at the club – or it was just well-intended sarcasm.
Pleased for him

Pretty sure Trabzonspor have a buy clause in the loan, but I read somewhere they're looking to negotiate it down as they don't want to pay the agreed fee (around 500000 euros). Not sure Bielsa sees it working out for him at Leeds but he's doing pretty well for himself this season
