The domestic transfer window is now officially open and I can just hear the shudders of fear surround that announcement.

Let’s be honest, though we love to see our club linked with new players like any other set of fans, we’ve probably got to approach things with caution more than others.

Hopefully, though, Victor Orta, Andrea Radrizzani and Paul Heckingbottom will sort things out in a manner that makes us happy.

Whilst we wait to see what occurs, then, let’s have a look at Phil Hay’s tweet about the opening and the reaction from our fans:

The Verdict

You can understand the slight reservations and anxiety around this announcement.

Obviously, a lot of is it sarcasm but, at the same time, with us there’s just as much chance we’ll make some duff signings as class ones.

Let’s hope more of the latter prevail this time around.

  • The usual bravado and we all know we will not get Hernandez, mcburnie or vydra…and I suspect not even marrriot. Well be lumbered with some no-mark from some godawful European b league because they’ve scored 15 goals against defences consisting of part timers, over the hill veterans and walking wounded never-has-beens. When are we gonna get the same quality as those we’ve sold? Also if we let Pearce go we deserve our probable conclusion of league one football against sunderland and rochdale
