According to Ger Lynch as discussed on his Youtube channel, Leeds United – The View, Leeds United are interested in the AZ Alkmaar and Hungarian International left-back Milos Kerkez.

Jesse Marsch is looking to add more faces to his squad during the January transfer window after sealing a deal for Austrian International Maximilian Wober from RB Salzburg earlier this week. The Whites are desperately in need of a striker and a left-back and although Wober can play on the left side of the defence, he is a more natural centre-back. The 24-year-old is believed to be in contention for a first start in the FA Cup this weekend and Marsch is now rumoured to be looking into the signing of the 19-year-old left-back, who is regarded as one of Europe’s top prospects. He could be available for a fee of around £15m.

Milos Kerkez currently plays for The Dutch Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar and has so far racked up 18 appearances, scoring twice. He has also represented his country at U17 and U21 levels as well as four appearances for the senior side. As a youngster, he played in the youth academies of Rapid Wien and AC Milan. He later signed for the Italian giants but failed to make a senior appearance before his move to Alkmaar in January 2022.

Ger Lynch said, “According to a couple of places, Leeds are now looking at AZ Alkmaar left back, Milos Kerkez. Kerkez is a Hungarian international who is roughly rated in and around the £15 million pound price mark. According to these sources, Talksport is the main source so there is a pinch of salt in this. According to them, they’re saying Leeds are amongst three Premier League clubs that are interested in the left-back.”

“Leeds continue to be linked with left-backs despite the fact they’ve brought in Max Wober, and Wober has been said that he will play as a left-back, I have my own theory about this, I think he’s been signed as a centre-back if I’m being honest. Leeds continue to be linked with left-backs so, maybe there’s some smoke there. Speaking then about Kirkez, he was at AC Milan and left AC Milan only in the summer to move to AZ Alkmaar, has had a very good season there and has been looked at by multiple sources and multiple clubs about a move. It will be a £15 million pound bid if Leeds want to get him away. You would imagine Alkmaar will not want to sell a player they’ve only just bought, already. It will all depend on money and assume then what kind of money Leeds have to spend, or the willingness of Leeds to spend.”

What do you think, should Leeds go for a young and relatively inexperienced player from another league, or try and look for a proven Premier League left-back? Let us know your thoughts on Milos Kerkez in the comments.
