Ger Lynch: Klich wants to leave Leeds

|

According to Ger Lynch via his Youtube channel Leeds United-The View, Mateusz Klich wants to Leave Elland Road.

The Poland international was said to be “hurt” over Czesław Michniewicz’s decision to not include him in the World Cup squad and has made his interest to leave the West Yorkshire club known. The 32-year-old is out of contract in June 2024 so that will leave Jesse Marsch and the Leeds United hierarchy with a decision to make on his future. They may let his contract run down or they could sell the player in January with several European clubs said to be interested in Klich.

Unknown clubs in France, Italy and Germany are believed to have enquired about Klich for a possible loan deal, but currently, none of those clubs has submitted a concrete offer for the player.

Should Leeds sell Klich or let his contract run out?

Sell, he needs moving on

Keep, good squad player

Speaking about Klich on his podcast, Ger Lynch said, “What’s come out in the last couple of days, according to LeedsLive and James Marshment is that Leeds will look at losing the player probably in January. Klich himself wants to leave, has made his interest to leave Leeds known. The 32-year-old is out of contract in June 2024, so Leeds have a decision to make in January to sell or let his contract run out. There are several European clubs said to be interested in Klich, they include clubs in France, Italy and Germany. There have been some loan inquiries about Klich coming in as well, but currently, none of that has actually come to fruition just yet. We’ll have to see what happens in the next couple of weeks for that one.”

Klich was an integral part of the promotion-winning side, but at the age of 32, is it time we moved him on and either bought a replacement or gave the youth some game time? The majority of fans are looking for a squad overhaul in the next few transfer windows and many feel the old guard such as Klich, Adam Forshaw, Luke Ayling and club captain Liam Cooper need to be replaced. Football evolves, and in such a demanding, high-level league like the Premier League, every position needs to be filled with quality if you want to succeed, or at least stay in the division.
