Leeds United have confirmed that Gary McAllister has joined the club as the new manager, replacing the outgoing Dennis Wise who departed yesterday.

The 43-year-old has signed a contract until the end of the season, and will likely take over first team affairs following Leeds’ League One fixture with Southend United this evening.

McAllister’s only managerial experience came as he took over Coventry City for 18 months, however it appears he has now opted to try his hand as a manager once more at a club that he made over 300 appearances for, including the 1992 season in which Howard Wilkinson lead the Whites to the Football League title.
