Leeds Word On The Tweet

‘Frightened’, ‘sort it out’: Captains words fall on deaf ears with these Leeds fans

|

Win as a team, lose as a team.

That seemed to be the message that Leeds United captain Liam Cooper was trying to instill after Saturday’s loss to Charlton Athletic.

Speaking to LeedsUnited.com after the game, Cooper said that the whole team needs to take responsibility for what’s happening:

“Once again we have had the chances to win the game and we can’t keep shooting ourselves in the foot by conceding the goals we are. The manager has told us to stay positive, our luck will turn as we are getting nothing at the moment and we will keep going. We’ve got to sort it out at conceding set-pieces at that end and the lads have to sort it out at the top end and put some chances away and that is the way it is, we will all be working hard to go again.”

Although the message didn’t seem to go down all that well with certain sections of the fan base. In fact their message back to the captain seemed to be on of ‘it’s no use saying it, you’ve got to do it as well’.
