Yesterday evening Leeds United travelled to Bootham Crescent to face off against York City in our second pre-season friendly of the summer.

The hosts took the lead in the game with the goal credited to “Trialist” but Sam Dalby had us back on level terms in the second half of the game with an effort of his own.
With an incredibly small group of players travelling for the Forest Green Rovers victory, this group had a little more depth to it and saw a completely different starting eleven take to the pitch as manager Marcelo Bielsa takes full advantage of friendlies to see the whole group in action.

Japanese international Yosuke Ideguchi made his non-competitive debut for the club in the game, and it was certainly an unusual XI. Our loan signing capture from Chelsea, Lewis Baker also made his debut in the match as he builds his fitness and like a number of players, he managed to get the full 90 under his belt which will do him the world of good.

Venue: Bootham Crescent.
Attendance: 4,400.
Referee: R. Joyce.
With the match taking some attention, the main topic of conversation at Elland Road remains signings.
Two things will happen here. A couple of big signings are just days away or Marcelo Bielsa will realise there’s no way of doing anything with the current squad and walk

Sick of all the happy clapping flogs that support this club banging on about how results like this are acceptable because it's "preseason", it's not the lack of transfers that are doing us in, it's some fans accepting mediocrity and a lack of spending from our skint owner.

Loads????And why take so long about it?????
— Stuart Grant (@McClumsy84) July 20, 2018
Strongly worded, nice one. Disappointed how late the club have left things after such a coup in signing Bielsa, and after all the bold statements. Even if we sign players now – what an opportunity missed to give them a full preseason with him.

True mate forgot about that. Think it’s just getting frustrating now about how long deals are taking. Wonder if Hernandez will drop his wage demands as nobody had really gone for him.

Best player on the pitch in my opinion. Nice turns and passing. Kept urging the youngsters to keep moving and find space

Ideguchi, just needs time to build confidence again, he wasn't fantastic last night but seemed to get into positions and nobody passed to him, hope he's given time
