Yesterday evening Leeds United travelled to Bootham Crescent to face off against York City in our second pre-season friendly of the summer.

The hosts took the lead in the game with the goal credited to “Trialist” but Sam Dalby had us back on level terms in the second half of the game with an effort of his own.

With an incredibly small group of players travelling for the Forest Green Rovers victory, this group had a little more depth to it and saw a completely different starting eleven take to the pitch as manager Marcelo Bielsa takes full advantage of friendlies to see the whole group in action.

Japanese international Yosuke Ideguchi made his non-competitive debut for the club in the game, and it was certainly an unusual XI. Our loan signing capture from Chelsea, Lewis Baker also made his debut in the match as he builds his fitness and like a number of players, he managed to get the full 90 under his belt which will do him the world of good.

York:

Bartlett, Griffiths (Law 61), Newton, Bencherif, Trialist (Parslow 45), Penn (Moke 61), York (Steels 66), Heslop, Burrow (Wright 61), Kempster (Ferguson 61), Longstaff (Parkin 61).

Subs not used:

Whitley.

Goals – Trialist (23).

Leeds:

Miazek (Huffer 45), De Bock, Ideguchi, Vieira, Baker, Klich, Pearce, Clarke, Edmondson (Dalby 45), Shackleton, Stevens (Diaz 45).

Subs not used:

Rey.

Goals – Dalby (57).

Venue: Bootham Crescent.
Attendance: 4,400.

With the match taking some attention, the main topic of conversation at Elland Road remains signings.
